Firefighter, homeowner, hospitalized after house fire in Merrimack, NH

A raging blaze in a Merrimack, New Hampshire house caused a firefighter and the homeowner to be hospitalized Sunday.

Crews responded to the home just before noon to find flames leaping from the second floor, Merrimack Fire Rescue wrote on Facebook.

The fire was knocked down within half an hour.

The homeowner was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The firefighter was transported as a precaution after slipping and falling during the battle with the flames. They have since returned to duty.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
