Firefighters Battle Multiple Wildfires in Alameda County

Several lightning-caused fires sparked in Northern California’s East Bay Area, prompting evacuation orders on Monday, August 17, local media reported.

The Alameda County Fire Department confirmed on Sunday that “multiple vegetation fires” moving at moderate speeds were reported near Calaveras Reservoir and Indian Creek in Sunol.

As of 6.15 pm Monday, the fire was estimated at about 850 acres with zero percent containment, with about 10 homes under mandatory evacuation, according to local media.
