Firefighters Commence Planned Ignition on 'Out of Control' Tremont Creek Fire

The Tremont Creek wildfire burning southeast of Ashcroft in British Columbia, Canada, reached 12,061 hectares (29,803.38 acres) as of Sunday, July 25, officials said.

This footage, released by the BC Wildfire Service, shows what was described as a successful planned ignition on the fire.

BC Wildfire Service said the fire was classified as out of control and wildfire activity was expected to increase in the afternoons thanks to hot and dry conditions and strong winds. Credit: BC Wildfire Service via Storyful
