Firefighters to deliver flowers for charity on Valentine’s Day

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – With Valentine’s Day this week, some people may be busy picking out flowers for someone special in their life, meanwhile Eau Claire firefighters will be busy delivering flowers. For 13 years, Eau Claire Floral and the Eau Claire Firefighters Community Charity have partnered to help spread love.

People who order arrangements from Eau Claire Floral have the option to get them delivered by firefighters on February 13th and 14th and in turn, they earn wages and tips towards the Firefighters Charity.

Eau Claire Floral owner, Genny Hay, says the partnership is a big help for her as well, “We do about 300 deliveries the day of Valentine’s Day on a normal day it can be anywhere between 15 and 25, so Valentine’s Day is just a to manage. So having the extra help, the extra vehicles, the extra manpower is very valuable.”

The Eau Claire Firefighters Community Charity helps support various causes. The big one the charity likes to support every year is the Coats for Kids program.
