Firefighters rescue hawk stuck in a tree in Butler County

Firefighters in Butler County responded to an unusual call earlier today when they were asked to rescue a hawk from a tree.

A member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company said the Pennsylvania Game Commission asked for help rescuing the bird.

The hawk was stuck in a tree on North Pike Road in Winfield Township.

Crews say the bird was tangled in kite string in the tree.

They were able to get it free and Game Commission officers transported it to a rehab facility.
