Ventura County firefighters tackled a small brush fire in the Oak View area near Lake Casitas Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 3 p.m. near the 10400 block of Santa Ana Road, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
The blaze was ultimately kept to 2 acres. Some outbuildings in the area were initially threatened, but none were ultimately damaged.

The Ana Fire, as it was called, burned at a slow rate, moving uphill with light fuel and little wind.
Helicopters helped the attack, dipping from Lake Casitas, along with ground crews and a water tender. Los Padres National Forest firefighters also responded.
Air tankers were initially summoned but were called off before they arrived when firefighters said they could handle the incident with resources at the scene.
The National Weather Service reported temperatures near the fire between 87 and 94 degrees with relative humidity of 28% to 32%. Southwest winds were blowing at 4 to 7 mph with gusts up to 13 mph.
California Highway Patrol officers assisted with traffic control.
After mopping up for several hours, crews declared the fire out around 7 p.m.
