Firehouse Subs, new chicken chain coming to Appleton; new word on Clearwater Paper property

·1 min read

Welcome back to The Buzz newsletter! I’m Brad Star, The Buzz reporter at The Post-Crescent.

This week's newsletter starts with local restaurant updates. Firehouse Subs is slated to open its first Fox Cities location on the east side in early March. Meanwhile, yet another chicken chain announced its plans to expand into Wisconsin, with Appleton on its list of intended markets.

We also received word on the former Clearwater Paper property for the first time since the paper mill shut down last summer. The Michigan-based company that purchased the site in Fox Crossing is considering turning it into apartments.

Lastly, I compiled a list of several Appleton-area business developments to watch for in early 2022.
