Oct. 22—NEW LONDON — With the end of the first grading period fast approaching, Firelands Electric Cooperative wants to remind students to enter the upcoming drawing for "The A Team," a program designed to recognize middle school students for their academic excellence.

Submissions for the next drawing are due by 4 p.m. on Dec. 10.

Students in grades 6 to 8 living in a home receiving power from Firelands Electric Cooperative, and who have a minimum of three A's on their most recent report card, are eligible to apply. To enter, send a copy of the student's report card to: Firelands Electric Co-op, Attn: The A Team, PO Box 32, New London, Ohio 44851. Report cards may also be e-mailed to members@firelandsec.com.

Three students from each grading period will be randomly selected to win an Amazon gift card. Winners will also have their photo published in an upcoming issue of Ohio Cooperative Living magazine, as well as be featured on the co-op's website and social media.
