Fires Lit on Paris Streets Amid Protests Against New COVID Measures

Fires were lit and streets strewn with trash as protests over proposed new coronavirus measures took place in Paris and other French cities on July 14.

Citing officials, French media reported as many as 18,000 people participated in the Bastille Day demonstrations, which were sparked by proposed legislation mandating vaccines for caregivers and an expansion of the health pass system.
