Firestone 25-25-25, Ellet 23-11-21

Gina Goggins totaled 31 assists, nine service points and three aces Thursday night to lead host Firestone (4-5, 2-0) to a win over Ellet (4-5, 2-1) in a City Series match.

Firestone’s Emani Myers played a key role at the net with 12 kills and added nine service points. Falcons coach Stacey McMillan also received solid contributions from Ruth Adams (nine digs, nine service points); Mariska Capper (nine digs) and Savannah Diamond (three blocks).

Ellet’s Anna Trowbridge totaled 13 digs and 10 kills, Kaitlynn Wright had 44 assists and two aces and Olivia Phillips had 12 service points.

Archbishop Hoban 25-25-25, St. Vincent-St. Mary 8-15-10

Giana Muthersbaugh had 15 service points and eight digs to guide visiting Hoban to a win over rival STVM.

Hoban's Sophia Day contributed 12 assists and three aces, Amber Watson had six kills, Haleigh Schulda had three aces and Molly Kennedy recorded two blocks.

Hoban is 8-4 this season under first-year coach Jim Maloof, who previously served as Tallmadge's coach.

Tallmadge 26-22-25-25, Copley 24-25-20-16

Lexi Gray totaled 41 assists and three aces to help propel Tallmadge to a victory.

Tallmadge first-year coach Josh Stewart also received standout performances from Hannah Eyre (14 kills), Maya Dexter (35 digs) and Sammy Blatt (two blocks).

Copley’s leaders were Katey Firestine (18 kills and five blocks), Shelby Emich (30 assists), Kayla Kemer (32 digs) and Lydia Pavlovich (14 service points).

Highland 25-25-25, Aurora 16-13-19

Highland coach Laura McDermott was pleased with her team’s “spread out offense.”

The Hornets (7-1, 6-0 SLAC) featured a balanced offensive attack with the following players making an impact at the net: Alayna Tessena (10 kills, nine digs), Calee Angus (eight kills), Izzy Shank (eight kills), Kallan Hrics (seven kills, three blocks).

“Both setters, Megan Scavuzzo (23 assists and five kills) and Ashley Shefferly (19 assists) set the tempo,” McDermott said. ‘Corinne Mutch led the way with 16 digs, making it difficult for the Greenmen to find a way to score.”

Wadsworth 25-25-25, North Royalton 13-14-12

Lauren Decker had nine kills and Rachel Dunkle and Ellie Zuro contributed seven kills apiece to lead the Grizzlies (5-4, 4-1 SLNC).

Dunkle added in two solo blocks and three assisted blocks.

Wadsworth coach Mallory Adams was also pleased with the play of Aly Snyder (23 assists, 13 service points, two aces); Mya Garcia (11 digs, five kills, 11 service points, three aces, two solo blocks, three assisted blocks); Kenzie Brandenburg (11 digs) and Lydia Wiita (two solo blocks and four assisted blocks).

Hannah Koons scored three goals and had one assist to lead visiting CVCA (6-2-1) to a win over Norton (3-3-1).

CVCA’s Kiera Ritzman and Hadley Hajdu netted one goal apiece.
