Firestone police arrest one in connection with shooting

Aug. 26—Firestone police have arrested one person in connection with a shooting on Thursday.

According to a Facebook post by Firestone police, dispatchers were called at 7:45 p.m. Thursday to the 500 block of First Street on an attempted suicide call.

Officers found one man on scene with a gunshot wound who was immediately transported to the hospital. Police did not state the severity of the injury.

After further investigation, another man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault. Officials have not yet released the man's name.

No further information was released, but police did say there was no threat to the public.

"The Firestone Police Department would like to share that there is no threat to the community," the post read. "This is an ongoing investigation, and at this time, there is no further information to share."
