Fireworks Near La Mesa July 4th 2020: Some Canceled; Some A Go

Susan C. Schena

LA MESA, CA — Independence Day events across the country will not look the same this year, thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and organizations decided to cancel their Fourth of July events, including in San Diego with the cancellation of a live "Big Bay Boom," as organizers plan a virtual event, and at Lake Murray and in Alpine.

But throughout San Diego County, there are some live fireworks displays still set to go on — including in Vista, Poway, Santee and El Cajon. Plus several communites are hosting stay-home, patriotic fun.

Peruse the list to see what's on tap. And stay safe, and have a Happy Fourth of July, from Patch!
