First Bassmaster Elite Series at Lake Murray SC since 2011 starts soon. How to watch and attend
South Carolina angler fans craving elite fishing competition are in for a treat soon.
The popular Bassmaster Elite Series is set to return to Lake Murray for the first time since 2011. The series will host competitions at the lake from April 20-23.
“We know Lake Murray will deliver a challenging event to the professional anglers and the final weights will be strong,” Miriam Atria, president and CEO of Capital City/Lake Murray Country, said in a recent press release.
The Elite Series has visited the 50,000-acre Saluda River fishery nine times for major events since 1991. The series includes nine regular season events in seven states. Anglers at the events will compete for the titles of ‘Progressive Insurance Bassmaster Angler of the Year,’ ‘Falcon Rods Rookie of the Year,’ and ‘Elite Series champion.’
The Bassmaster Elite series is one of the most viewed fishing tournaments on television and attracts an audience of over 12 million viewers annually.
The Lake Murray event will be viewable on television, internet streaming and in person. Here are the details.

How to watch event in person
To view the daily takeoffs and weigh-ins in person, you’ll need to head to Dreher Island State Park at 3677 State Park Road.
Parking
Parking at Dreher Island will be limited and will cost $3 per adult and $1.50 for adults 65 years old and older. Parking will cost another $1 for anyone between 6 and 15 years old.
Complimentary shuttle
Instead of parking at Dreher, save your money and take the complimentary shuttle.
Free shuttle service: 11:30 a.m. to 5:50 p.m.

Daily Elite Series events
Besides the competition itself, there will be multiple free events at the park.
Concert with Kristian Bush of Sugarland: Saturday at 1 p.m.
Watch a free concert, featuring multi-platinum-selling, two-time Grammy-winning Kristian Bush, who is known for being half of the record-breaking country music duo, Sugarland.
Free Community Expo: April 22-23 from 12-5 p.m.
Enjoy booths and exhibits from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the Gamecock Bass Fishing Team, Realtor Cat Thornton, Big Lake Outdoors, Lews/Strike King fishing simulator, Peak Drift Brewery and more.
There will also be food available from vendors such as Big Boys BBQ, Moms, and Sarah’s Rockin’ Kitchen food trucks.
Other exhibits from the event sponsors will include Toyota Experience, AFTCO, Power-Pole, Nitro Boats, Skeeter Boats, Ranger Boats, Yamaha Trailer Experience, Daiwa, Garmin, along with demo rides from Nitro/Ranger/Mercury and Skeeter/Yamaha.
