First business tenant announced for new development along this busy Columbia corridor

A new commercial development along a busy thoroughfare near Columbia has announced its first tenant.

Level Fitness will be the first business in the new Brentwood Park commercial project at 1514 Brentwood Drive in Forest Acres, the Cason Development Group announced in a recent release. The fitness facility will likely open its space in the development in late October or early November, the Cason Group said.

The two-story Brentwood Park facility totals 14,720 square feet on Brentwood Drive near the intersection of Forest Drive. It will have 8,400 square feet of space on the first floor and another 6,300 square feet on the second floor, plus a covered terrace. The developers said that terrace could be used as an amenity for a restaurant, wine bar, office tenant or other commercial use.

Level Fitness, founded by Hannah Buckner and Lilly Greenhalgh, will occupy space on the first floor of the development, in suite C. Level Fitness currently is operating in a temporary space on Devine Street, the Cason Group said.

Level Fitness will offer classes in Lagree Fitness training, which a release described as “a low-impact, high intensity spring-based machine resistance workout.” The business will also have hot yoga and hot-mat Pilates, and private fitness sessions.

“Hannah and Lilly are two of the most knowledgeable and attentive fitness instructors in Columbia,” Cason Development Group’s Sutton Barrow said in a statement. “I have personally enjoyed taking their Lagree Fitness classes and believe they will be extremely successful with Level in Forest Acres and here at Brentwood.”

The Brentwood Park commercial building is part of a mixed-use development that also includes 11 townhomes. The townhome element of the project is called Rigby Square.

The project is near a busy corridor. The section of Forest Drive near the development gets 26,000 cars per day, per state Department of Transportation statistics.
