First CFP rankings have Ohio State football fans defending Michigan: Social reactions
If the season ended today, the Ohio State Buckeyes would play Georgia in the College Football Playoff national semifinals.
Ohio State is the No. 2 team in the country. Georgia is third. No.1 Tennessee would play No. 4 Clemson. Undefeated Michigan was No. 5.
It wasn't much of a surprise that the Buckeyes were in the top four of the playoff committee's first set of rankings that were revealed on Nov. 1. Ranked No. 2 (along with Tennessee) in the AP poll, the 8-0 Buckeyes are once again on pace to be in the playoff, which last happened in 2020. The Buckeyes reached the national championship game after its eight-game season that year.

Coming off its toughest game of the season, a 44-31 win at Penn State, the Buckeyes' final four regular season games feature just one ranked opponent, Michigan, at home.

Some Buckeye fans are actually feeling sympathy for the team up north
Even as a Buckeyes fan, Clemson over ❌️ichigan is a joke. Not sure I would put Tennessee at 1 but we'll see how the rest of the season goes https://t.co/z8KtCBbhTp

As an Ohio State fan, Michigan being below Clemson is disrespectful with how terrible Clemson looks this year.

A lot of folks are looking at the Ohio State football schedule
Ohio State and Michigan have both played one half decent football team: Penn State.
Ohio State beat them 44-31. Michigan beat them 41-17.
Ohio State is 2. Michigan is 5.
