The first Dutch Bros Coffee in Tennessee is set to open in Smyrna next week

Friday marks the official opening of Tennessee's first Dutch Bros Coffee drive-thru — located at 540 Enon Springs Road E. in Smyrna.

The grand opening kicks off at 5 a.m. Friday. Hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

“We’re so excited to bring Dutch Bros to Tennessee and be part of the Smyrna community,” said Taylor Jacobs, operator of Dutch Bros Smyrna. "The community has been so great and welcoming."

To celebrate, customers can enjoy any size drink for $2.

Dutch Bros serves handcrafted espresso-based coffee drinks, smoothies, freezes, teas, an exclusive Dutch Bros Blue Rebel energy drink and nitrogen-infused cold brew coffee. Fan favorites include the Iced Golden Eagle Breve, Blended Double Rainbro Rebel and Palm Beach Lemonade.

Beans are imported from Columbia, El Salvador and Brazil, then craft-roasted in the company's Grants Pass, Oregon, facility and shipped in daily, Jacobs explained, producing a medium roast coffee.

Most locations just sell drinks, but bagged coffee is sold on the company website.

The standalone coffee shops offer drive-thru and walk-up service with a covered outdoor seating area. With a focus on mobile service, Jacobs said product delivery is down to a science.

"Our goal and our standard as a company is under 45 seconds per car at the window," Jacobs said, comparing the speed of service to another popular fast-food chain whose lines are legendary. "Hopefully our lines aren't too difficult."

The Oregon-based company was founded in 1992 by Dane and Travis Boersma. It now has more than 500 locations in 13 states.

A Dutch Bros Coffee is also scheduled to open in the coming weeks in Gallatin, a company spokesperson confirmed. Other locations are planned later this year in Hermitage and Murfreesboro.
