First Lady Olena Zelenska presents Books Without Borders project to Ukrainian kids abroad

The program is meant to deliver Ukrainian books to Ukrainian evacuees abroad, in order to provide them with a literary connection to the homeland.
"We still cannot return temporary refugees to their homeland, to their own homes as it is still dangerous,” she said.
“But we can make the homeland come to them in the form of culture and their mother tongue.”

The First Lady held a video call with Ukrainian children and parents who found shelter in the UK. For those who are in this country, the Embassy of Ukraine, together with philanthropists, printed 16,000 different books by Ukrainian authors for children aged 3 to 16 years.
Zelenska added that thanks to the Books Without Borders project, it was possible to deliver over 160,000 books to Ukrainian evacuees throughout the world.

"Thus, books do not only entertain or educate — they unite, bring back the feeling of home, and their language,” the Instagram post reads.
“This is our victory on the cultural front, and it brings the main victory closer."
