First look as Orange Is the New Black's Uzo Aduba returns to Netflix for new series

Painkiller, the new Netflix drama featuring Orange Is the New Black star Uzo Aduba, has released its first images.
The six-part series, which also stars Matthew Broderick, will tell the story of the opioid crisis in the United States, in particular focusing on the Sackler family and their company Purdue Pharma.
Much like Hulu’s Dopesick, the series will “explore some of the origins and aftermath of the opioid crisis in America, highlighting the stories of the perpetrators, victims, and truth-seekers whose lives are forever altered by the invention of OxyContin.”

The series, which will premiere on August 10, will serve as an "an examination of crime, accountability, and the systems that have repeatedly failed hundreds of thousands of Americans," (via TVLine).
Starring alongside Aduba and Broderick will be Sam Anderson (Lost), Taylor Kitsch (True Detective), Tyler Ritter (Arrow) and Dina Shihabi (Jack Ryan), with Friday Night Lights' Peter Berg directing all episodes.
Aduba, who played Suzanne ‘Crazy Eyes’ Warren on OITNB, will reportedly play the investigator leading the case against Purdue, with Broderick assuming the role of CEO Richard Sackler.
Painkiller isn’t the only Netflix vehicle for Aduba this year, with the actress also set to star in The Residence, the new series from Grey’s Anatomy creator and showrunner Shonda Rhimes.
The eight-part series, which is based on Kate Andersen Brower's novel, will see Aduba play an “unsettling” detective who is assigned to a murder case with potentially 157 suspects.

The series is described as a “screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and back stairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world's most famous mansion.”
Aduba, who voiced the role of Alisha Hawthorne in Pixar’s Lightyear, will also star in All Her Little Secrets, a mystery-thriller series from Aurin Squire.
Painkiller will stream on Netflix from August 10.
