The Sacramento Ballet will debut its new version of Cinderella on Friday night, featuring a live orchestra, new choreography and 38 energetic children.
The company plans four shows, including two matinees, at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center in downtown Sacramento. Tickets were available for tonight’s 7:30 p.m. show starting at $79 as of Friday morning.
Each matinee will be preceded by pre-show dress-up party, a first for the ballet. Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite Cinderella characters. The parties start a half-hour before the shows begin at 2 p.m.
The new version of Cinderella features choreography by Paul Vasterling. Ming Luke will conduct the orchestra’s performances of composer Sergei Prokofiev’s score.
