First look at Get Out star LaKeith Stanfield's new Apple TV+ horror series
Apple has released the trailer for horror series The Changeling, starring Get Out's LaKeith Stanfield.
“Would you even know if you crossed into a fairy tale?” a voice asks in the eerie trailer for the eight-part series.
It focuses on a couple, Apollo (Stanfield) and Emma, who reconnect after she returns from a trip to Brazil. While there she went to a forbidden waterfall pool and met a creepy old witch with different coloured eyes and a sinister cackle.
The witch ties a red string around her wrist and tells her that she will have three wishes that come true, and once they do the string will fall off. But if she cuts it off prematurely, really bad things will happen.
Obviously, her other half goes and cuts it off.

Bad things start happening, Emma goes missing, people start breathing out smoke, and there's all sorts of weird imagery going on. In the trailer we also hear talk of portals and trespassing in another world, and it's all very intriguing.
The official synopsis describes it as "a fairytale for grown-ups. A horror story, a parenthood fable and a perilous odyssey through a New York City you didn’t know existed."
The show has been adapted from the book of the same name by Victor LaValle. Melina Matsoukas – who has directed music videos for Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kylie and Lady Gaga – has helmed the pilot episode.

The Changeling will premiere on Apple TV+ on September 8. New episodes will drop weekly on Fridays after that.
