First responders discover two dead, two injured after garage explodes in Shawano County

LESSOR – Two people were found dead and two others injured after emergency crews responded Friday to the scene of a garage explosion.

The explosion happened about 12:45 p.m. along Wisconsin 47 near Wisconsin 156 in the town of Lessor, according to the Shawano County Sheriff's Office. The town is about 25 miles west of Green Bay and six miles south of Bonduel.

According to the Sheriff's Office, an initial investigation revealed that a pressurized container had been punctured, which caused the explosion. But the investigation in ongoing, according to a news release.

The two survivors were taken to local medical centers for treatment, the release said.

The Sheriff's Office did not identify any of the victims and said that no more information would be released at this time.
