The vessel in question is called RAZONI and flies the flag of Sierra Leone. It’s carrying 26,000 tons of Ukrainian corn to Tripoli, Lebanon, and will follow a transit corridor established by the UN and Turkey.

“Unblocking (Ukrainian) ports will yield at least $1 billion in revenue for our economy, and allows our farmers to start planning for the next season,” the minister added.

A further 16 ships still remain in Odesa, waiting for their turn to safely depart – they’ve been moored ever since the war broke out.

The pace and volume of Ukrainian agricultural exports is expected to reach its usual throughput in the coming weeks, according to Kurbakov.
