First trailer for baseball movie filmed in Augusta is out. What local scenes made the cut?

Augusta will once again be up on the big screen.

The first trailer for "The Hill" was released last week. The movie was filmed entirely in the Augusta area more than a year ago.

The trailer contains multiple angles of Lake Olmstead Stadium. While the Augusta GreenJackets haven't played there in years, it looks as though "movie magic" has restored it to its former glory. Also, in an earlier flashback scene of children playing baseball, eagle-eyed viewers may catch that they are in the Georgia-Carolina fairgrounds. There will likely be more Augusta Easter eggs in the finished film.

"The Hill" is based on the true story of Ricky Hill, a professional baseball player who overcame physical disabilities. Playing Hill is Colin Ford, star of TV series like CBS' "Under the Dome" and Netflix's "Daybreak." Playing his father is Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor Dennis Quaid.

The film is Rescue Dog Productions' first and is the latest project from Vitamin A Films, who has been a part of other movies shot locally such as "Agent Game" and "The Royal."

Briarcliff Entertainment distributors confirmed "The Hill" will be released only in theaters on Aug. 25. However, this is a smaller film and it's unclear right now whether it will come to local theaters.
