Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Joe Lo Truglio's new movie is worlds away from the comedy of the 99th precinct.

Lo Truglio has written and directed the horror film Outpost, which stars his real-life wife Beth Dover in a leading role and will be streaming in the UK and Australia next month.

In Outpost, a woman named Kate (Dover) moves to a remote community in Idaho to heal from personal trauma. When Kate gets a job as a fire lookout volunteer, she discovers something very wrong is going on beyond the doors of the fire tower.

Kate must battle her growing paranoia as she confronts those responsible for the deadly secret — or face the fate of many doomed people before her.

The impressive cast also features another husband-and-wife duo, as Ted Lasso's Becky Ann Baker and her real husband Dylan Baker (Spider-Man 2 and Homeland) have supporting roles in Outpost.

Rounding out the cast are Dallas Roberts (The Walking Dead) and Ato Essandoh (Chicago Med).

Leading star Beth has appeared in Netflix shows Orange Is the New Black and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp — the latter of which also starred her husband Joe.

Lo Truglio is most often associated with comedy — but not just from playing Boyle in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He's also a member of the classic sketch group The State, the team behind the cult classic comedy film Wet Hot American Summer and the series Reno 911!.

Outpost will arrive on Prime Video and other streaming services on September 11, 2023 in the UK and Ireland, as well as in Australia and New Zealand on September 13, 2023.
