The first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home star Jacob Batalon's new film has landed.

Originally titled Horrorscope and now known as Tarot, the film comes from writer and director duo Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg, who previously collaborated on the horror short BLINK.

The film's synopsis reads: "When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings — never use someone else's deck — they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards.

"One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death to escape the future foretold in their readings."

Alongside Batalon, the film also stars Mr Selfridge's Alana Boden, The Bold and the Beautiful's Adain Bradley, Senior Year's star Avantika, Utopia Falls' Humberly González and The Half of It's Wolfgang Novogratz.

While the trailer doesn't give away much, it does start by giving us a look at a pretty frightening-looking demon-type before showing the group sitting down to use the cursed deck.

Tarot hits cinemas on May 10.

Batalon is best known for playing Peter Parker's best friend, Ned, in the latest Spider-Man franchise, but his time at Spidey's side might be over.

Following the release of No Way Home, Batalon admitted in late 2022 that he didn't know if he'd be back for another instalment.

Speaking about the film's ending and his future in the franchise, Batalon said: "It really puts an exclamation on the continuance of Spider-Man, but maybe not with us [himself and Zendaya, who plays MJ], and I think that's a great thing.

"We may not necessarily be a part of it, in the end, but it was a beautiful ride anyway."

Tarot hits cinemas on May 10. Spider-Man: No Way Home is available to buy now on Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers.
