The first trailer for Netflix comedy Family Switch, starring Wednesday's Emma Myers and Jennifer Garner, has been released.

Based on the book Bedtime for Mommy by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, the Freaky Friday-inspired film follows the Walker family as they switch bodies with one another on the most important day of each of their lives.

Garner and Ed Helms (The Office) play parents Jess and Bill Walker, while Myers and Brady Noon (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem) play their children, CC and Wyatt.

The trailer opens with Garner's Jess worrying that her family are "disconnected," before she takes takes them on a festive outing so they can "make a happy memory as a family".

However, when the family end up arguing and wishing they could spend a day in each other's shoes to see how hard it really is, their wishes are unexpectedly granted.

Jess and CC swap bodies and so do Bill and Wyatt, while baby Miles hilariously swaps with the family's pet dog.

We then watch as the family navigate a day in each other's literal shoes, which seems to bring them closer together than ever.

Family Switch is directed by McG (Charlie's Angels), while Adam Sztykiel (Black Adam) wrote the script.

The film marks the second time Garner has played a Wednesday star's mother, as Jenna Ortega played her daughter in the 2021 Netflix comedy Yes Day.

Myers and Ortega are both set to return for Wednesday's second season, reprising their respective roles as best friends Enid Sinclair and Wednesday Addams.

Myers is also set to star in the BBC's upcoming adaptation of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, which follows protagonist Pip Fitz-Amobi (Myers) as she investigates the murder of a schoolgirl.

Family Switch will start streaming on Netflix on November 30.
