These first few days of summer have been seasonal, but that’s about to change. Action News Jax Meteorologist Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh is tracking near-record heat the next couple of days.

Temps soar to near 100 today and Friday with feel-like temps as high as 110. You really have to pay attention and respect the heat the next two days if you have outdoor plans or work outside. Take plenty of breaks in the shade or A/C and stay hydrated.

Buresh says an isolated shower or storm is possible this afternoon. Most neighborhoods will remain dry. Scattered rain and storms return tomorrow afternoon and linger into the weekend. That will present our best chance of needed rain this month.

Temperatures won’t be as hot this weekend and into next week. Highs will be near average in the low 90s.
