The first weekend in April is bringing Parker McCollum, Field Gay and more to Shreveport

The final week of March is here and this weekend April is in full swing with so many great events happening all around Shreveport and Bossier City.

The annual Field Gay by ShrevePride makes its return a little early to try and beat that humid Louisiana heat, there's also Parker McCollum's rescheduled show at the Brookshire Grocery Arena, the Bossier City Farmers Market has its opening day and more.

Friday, March 31

  • Field Gay Spirit Night at The Seventh Tap - From 6 - 9 p.m. The Seventh Tap will welcome all ages to come out and build up team spirit and camaraderie among competitors before the games begin at Field Gay on Saturday. Bring your arts and crafts game to create signs to cheer on your favorite teams. The Seventh Tap is located at 2640 Linwood Ave. in Shreveport.

  • Lip Service Drag Show at Bear's - Hosted by ZaZa Gigante, come out for the monthly Lip Service Drag Show with performances by Aalise O'Hara Skyy, Sasha Black, Sarah Tonin Katz and Glam Davenport. The fun begins at 11 p.m. at 1401 Fairfield Ave. in Shreveport.

  • Parker McCollum at Brookshire Grocery Arena - Country music star Parker McCollum is bringing along guests The Steel Woods and Catie Offerman for his rescheduled show in Bossier City. There are still a limited number of tickets left available to purchase at Ticketmaster. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and the Brookshire Grocery Arena is located at 2000 Brookshire Grocery Arena Dr.

Saturday, April 1

  • Field Gay at AC Steere Park - ShrevePride is bringing back their fan-favorite annual event that invites the entire community out for a day filled with throwback field day games, local food trucks and vendor booths. Whether you're playing or spectating, this is an all-ages event for all of Shreveport-Bossier to enjoy a day of community building. Field Gay will take place from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at AC Steere Park.

  • Bossier City Farmers Market Opening Day - Beginning April 1, the Bossier Farmers Market will open to the public from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the south parking lot of the Pierre Bossier Mall at 2950 E. Texas St. in Bossier City.

  • Anarchy in April Show at The Remington Garage - Calling all punks in the 318: Bands Merrows, The Beer Monkeys Turd Cutter, Okay Boomhauer, BloodDrunk and Joe Buck will be performing along with food trucks and drinks. This is an ages 18 and up show and entry will cost $15 with the music beginning at 6 p.m. at 211 Market St. in downtown Shreveport.

Sunday, April 2

  • Shreveport Royal Princess Ball - Dream Parties is putting on a Princess character-themed children's event that will be a day of magical fun for the whole family. Meet your favorite characters, watch them perform and get your picture taken along with participating in princess games, story times, sing-alongs and more. This event is geared towards kids ages 3 - 7, but all ages are welcome. Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased at the Shreveport Royal Princess Ball Eventbrite page.

  • Snow White by the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet at the Riverview Theatre - Come out to the Riverview Theatre for the 20th Anniversary showing of "Snow White" featuring the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra performing Kermit Poling's original score. Visit the Shreveport Metro Ballet website to purchase tickets. The show begins at 2:30 p.m. at 600 Clyde Fant Pkwy in Shreveport.
