Two large fish were spotted swimming on a flooded road in regional New South Wales on October 24, after persistent rain hit the region.

This footage filmed by Twitter user @stevross001 shows the fish swimming on a flooded road in Carroll, New South Wales.

The State Emergency Service issued an evacuation warning for the town on Monday, as the Namoi River continued to rise.

Elsewhere in New South Wales, the body of a woman was found by police after she went missing in floodwaters in the state’s Central West.

According to police, a vehicle with four passengers was swept off a road near Mudgee on Sunday. The driver, a 45-year-old man, and two male passengers escaped the vehicle and made their way to safety.

The third passenger – a woman aged in her 20s – reportedly also got out, but could not be located.

Searches for the woman continued on Monday, until a body was located on a riverbank at about 9.50am. While she is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing 28-year-old woman. Credit: @stevross001 via Storyful
