Fishing tournaments: 13-pound stringer wins Happy Hookers Bass Club tourney on Lake Alfred

Kevin McSwain and Brandon Robinson had 13.00 pounds to win the Happy Hookers Bass Club tournament Feb. 6 at Lake Alfred. Matt Wybiral and C.J. Kenny took second place with 11.20 pounds. Scott Jackson and Kenny Condgen placed third with 10.40 pounds and had big bass with a 6.60-pounder.

Danny Marsocci and Alan Nelson had a seven-fish aggregate of 10.27 pounds to win the Sunshine State Crappie Trail tournament Feb. 5 on Lake Okeechobee. Brad Gibson and Calvin King were second with 9.66 pounds. Jeff Simms and John Dunlap were third with 9.55 pounds and also had big fish with a 1.69-pounder.

Chris Crow and Justin Ladosa had 30.04 pounds to win the Xtreme Bass Series Istokpoga Division tournament Feb. 6 on Lake Istokpoga. D.J. Green and David Bolema took second place with 22.78 pounds. Tracy Bray and Jason Legget took third place with 19.64 pounds. Kyle Wieczorek and Greg Jones took big bass with a 7.79-pounder.

Barry Edie had 19.13 pounds and big bass with a 6.67-pounder to win the Winter Haven Lunker Lovers’ tournament Feb. 6 at Lake Istokpoga. David Glenn was second with 14.07 pounds. Stacy Thomas was third with 12.79 pounds. John Gasperak was fourth with 11.45 pounds.

Bill Barlow had 17.25 pounds to win the Lone Fishing Club tournament Feb. 5 at Lake Pierce. Jerry Davis took second place with 14.25 pounds and also had big bass with a 4.75-pounder.

Tony Hicks and Mark Hicks had 10.14 pounds to win first place in the Pond Jumpers Tournament Trail event Feb. 5 at Lake Panasoffkee. Johnny Johnson and Randy Hummel were second with 10.00 pounds. Loran Hepler and Julia Hepler were third with 9.14 pounds. Brad Sopp took big bass with a 6.40-pounder.

The next Catch'em Crappie tournament, held by Hoppy’s Marine, is Feb. 12 at Port Hatchineha. Safe light to noon. Up to four anglers per boat with a $60 fee per boat, plus $5 ramp fee.
