Corrinne Tarver, who was named coach of Fisk's new women's gymnastics program in February, was also named the school's athletics director Wednesday by president Vann Newkirk.

Tarver replaced Larry Glover, who served two stints as athletics director the latest which began in 2018. Glover was the AD and men's basketball coach from 1996-2006.

Glover will assume leadership of the school's newly expanded Teacher Education program scheduled to launch in the fall of 2023.

"I am honored to be named to the top position in the athletic department," Tarver said. "I look forward to working with the coaches and athletes. I would like to thank Dr. Newkirk for putting his trust in me. I am ready to get to work."

Tarver, who previously was an assistant gymnastics coach at Pennsylvania, has administrative experience.

She served as associate director of intercollegiate athletics and senior woman administrator at Stockton University and assistant director of athletic compliance at Syracuse earlier in her career.

"(Tarver) is highly qualified," Newkirk said. "She will lead our program to top honors. I would like to thank coach Larry Glover for his service. I am looking forward to the future of Fisk athletics."
