Five-bedroom home gives space, custom touches

You can purchase a white, modern farmhouse with three or four bedrooms anywhere in Williamson County, but if you’d like something new and different, take a look at Drees Homes’ new model home in Nolensville.

The model home in the Annecy neighborhood adds a fifth bedroom, something that growing numbers of home buyers are looking for.

And the exterior is painted black.

The model home, which Drees calls its Wilshire design, is open for tours any day of the week. The model home is open to walk-in guests as well as private tours by appointment.

“The new Wilshire’s moody tones set the scene for eye-catching architecture and elevated selections that can be found at every turn. This model home presents one memorable living experience that we think home buyers in Nashville are sure to love,” said Travis Chapman, Drees’ Nashville sales manager.

The more than 4,700-square-foot model features other trends, as well. Rich cedar accents complement black board and batten, creating a modern look. There are covered porches on both the first and second floors, a custom wine bar, a game room and a media room.

The owner’s suite and the guest suite are both on the first floor.

As of September Drees had sold 32 homes in Annecy and had one quick move-in home remaining in the current section. Pricing of the next phase will begin at $1.2 million, said Chapman.

Annecy is a new luxury home master-planned neighborhood about 20 miles south of downtown Nashville between Nolensville Road and I-24. The neighborhood is off of Rocky Fork Road and York Road. It features a pool and cabana, a community park and green space.

Homes in Annecy are being built by Drees, The Jones Co., David Weekley Homes, Celebration and Turnberry Homes.

A fifth bedroom is a new must-have feature for many buyers.

“We’re noticing that more and more buyers are having their parents or extended family move in with them. Having another bedroom to accommodate the larger family dynamic is helpful,” said Chapman.

“Also, just because it’s built as a bedroom doesn’t mean it has to be used in that capacity. We have families where both parents work from home, so converting the extra bedroom space to another office or even a fitness room provides flexibility and allows the buyer to truly make it their own,” he said.

Having space and privacy – and plenty of both – is a requirement for buyers of newly built and resale homes, said Realtor Lisa Culp Taylor, who leads the LCT Team at Parks.

“Space, privacy and move-in ready are some of the priorities we are hearing lately. Most recently, our team is getting feedback from buyers looking for an open floor plan, dedicated office space and a true in-law or guest suite, not just a small bedroom on the main level,” said Taylor.

“In this current market, buyers are searching for turn-key properties. We work with several home builders and our new construction homes are proving to be a popular solution for folks who want move-in ready. Privacy remains a concern as buyers are requesting homes which have space for nice outdoor living space or room for a pool,” she said.

You can expect to find homes just like Drees’ model in Annecy in locations across the region. In Williamson County, Drees offers the Wilshire plan in Kings’ Chapel in Arrington and Littlebury in Thompson’s Station.

Drees offers the Wilshire design at the Vineyard in Gallatin and will offer the design in the new Starnes Creek neighborhood launching soon in Franklin.
