Five days until 'The Game': When did Michigan last rush for 100 yards vs. Ohio State?

Ohio State vs. Michigan is five days away.

As the Buckeyes prepare for the Wolverines, the attention will likely center around how to stop Michigan's run game: something that gave Ohio State trouble in 2021 and something the Wolverines have hung their hats on throughout 2022.

With Blake Corum and company bringing the Big Ten's top rushing offense to Ohio Stadium Saturday afternoon, here are the last five Michigan backs who have rushed for at least 100 yards against Ohio State.

Hassan Haskins: 169 rushing yards — Michigan 42, Ohio State 27, 2021

In the middle of a snowstorm in Ann Arbor, Michigan's gameplan against Ohio State was clear: run the ball early and often.

Running back Hassan Haskins got the bulk of the work against the Buckeyes with 169 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 28 carries while averaging six yards per touch.

It was his 10th 100-yard game of his collegiate career and was the first time he had recorded more than two rushing touchdowns in a single game.

Overall, Michigan finished with 297 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 41 carries, averaging 7.2 yards per carry.

Denard Robinson: 122 rushing yards — Ohio State 26, Michigan 21, 2012

In 2012, it only took 10 carries for Denard Robinson to eclipse 100 rushing yards.

The Michigan quarterback served as the Wolverines' primary rusher against the Buckeyes, recording 122 yards — including a 67-yard touchdown — on 10 carries.

Michigan's five-point loss to Ohio State was Robinson's fifth game of at least 100 yards in 2012, finishing the season with 1,266 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

Overall, Michigan finished with 108 rushing yards on 27 carries, averaging four yards per carry.

Denard Robinson and Fitzgerald Toussaint: 290 combined rushing yards — Michigan 40, Ohio State 34, 2011

It has been 10 years since Michigan beat its most heated rivals from Ohio. In 2011, the Wolverines defeated Ohio State, 40-34.

Robinson and running back Fitzgerald Toussaint tag-teamed to run all over Ohio State's defense in the Wolverines' 40-34 win against the Buckeyes in 2011.

Robinson led the way with 170 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries, while Toussaint recorded 120 yards on 20 carries.

The pair recorded all but four of Michigan's carries against Ohio State, finishing with 309 yards on 50 carries with backs averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

Robinson's three-straight 100-yard performances against Ohio State started in Michigan's 30-point loss to the Buckeyes in 2010.

The then-sophomore quarterback who led the Wolverines in both rushing and passing finished with 105 rushing yards on 18 carries, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.

Michigan finished with 182 rushing yards with one rushing touchdown — a 1-yard run by Michael Shaw — on 41 carries, averaging 4.4 yards per rush.

Mike Hart: 142 rushing yards — Ohio State 42, Michigan 39, 2006

In Ohio State's last meeting with Michigan where both teams were 11-0, Mike Hart took control of the Wolverines' run game.

The Michigan running back had 23 of the team's 20 carries for 142 rushing yards against the Buckeyes, scoring three of the Wolverines' five touchdowns.

Michigan finished with 130 rushing yards, averaging 4.3 yards per carry against Ohio State in its three-point loss.
