Five deaths, 186 COVID cases this week

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District reported five COVID-related deaths and 186 new COVID-19 cases the week ending Dec. 3.

The deaths reported were: Case 21,202 (60s), Case 22,105 (80s), Case 21,380 (30s), Case 22,101 (80s), Case 21,984 (60s).

There are currently 13 county residents hospitalized related to the virus, three of which are vaccine-breakthrough cases. Two hospitalized patients are in critical condition.

There are 63 new recoveries.

The percentage of new cases who were not vaccinated is 38 percent.

The county has had a total of 210 reinfections, up five this week. There are 1,174 vaccine breakthroughs, up 115.

The testing positivity rate is 18 percent.
