National Doughnut Day is celebrated each year on the first Friday in June to honor the Salvation Army and Salvation Army Lassies who provided doughnuts to the troops in World War I.
The Jackson area has plenty of places offering the sweets that are worth the drive on Donut Day or any day, some even offering deals on National Doughnut Day.
