Six Fayetteville area festivals and fairs happening this fall
Fall is here and folks are ready to celebrate in full force. This weekend alone brings three festivals to the Fayetteville area.
From soul music and fashion shows to comic books and blue crabs, there’s no shortage of festivals in the next few weeks. With the events listed here, enjoying the fall foliage on nearby hiking trails and visiting pumpkin patches and haunted houses, fall is shaping up to be a fun few months in the Sandhills.
So, grab your pumpkin spice latte and get to it.

Events happening this weekend around Fayetteville
The Dogwood Fall Festival
Friday-Sunday: The Dogwood Fall Festival brings live music, hayrides and food trucks to downtown Fayetteville. Admission is free. The three-day affair wraps up Sunday with a car, motorcycle and truck show and the I AM PLUSH Plus Size Fashion Show, which promotes body positivity, and plus-size fashion. General admission to the show is $25 and VIP tickets are $50.

Time: 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. Sunday

Fayetteville Comic Con
Saturday-Sunday: Fayetteville Comic Con is a comic book convention where fans gather to meet creators, experts and each other. This year’s show will feature more than 100 geek-merchandise vendors, wrestling matches and 20 celebrity, voice-actor and comic-creator guests to the Crown Complex. Standard admission day passes are $26 and weekend passes are $44.

The Old School Sorghum Festival
Saturday: The Old School Sorghum Festival in Sampson County has celebrated the tradition of growing sorghum cane and using it as an alternative to sugar since 1998. The festival is at The Old School at McDaniel Crossroads, a 1924 schoolhouse. Attendees can see the process of making sorghum syrup in action, shop the country and vintage stores, and see antique vehicles and farm machinery, support vendors and enjoy festival food. The festival is free to attend.

Events coming up in Fayetteville
Holly Day Fair
Nov. 3-6: The 54th annual Holly Day Fair at the Crown Complex is a holiday gift and craft show that features more than 150 vendors selling items like jewelry, clothes, toys, holiday decoration and specialty food. The holiday shopping event typically draws 22,000 attendees, according to a news release. Admission is $10.

Time: 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 4 and 5, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 6

Southern Soul Music Festival
Nov. 5: The Southern Soul Music Festival brings Tucka, Calvin Richardson and Sir Charles Jones to the Crown Theatre for a live performance next month. Admission starts at $115.

Time: 7 to 11 p.m.

Fayetteville Eats Food Festival
Nov. 19: Fayetteville Eats Food Festival brings restaurants and food truck vendors to the Crown Coliseum for a two-hour event. Tickets include unlimited food and drink samples and entry to a Fayetteville Marksmen hockey game following the festival at the same venue. Admission starts at $30.
