Five generations help Salem woman mark 90th

Betty Hammond of Salem recently celebrated her 90th birthday, and a friend gave her a special gift. Mike Blythe took Hammond for a ride around town on his motorcycle. Riding along was Blythe's wife, Lisa. The birthday girl celebrated with lunch at Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe in Salem, where some of Hammond's family members posed for a photo that included five generations of the family. Joining Hammond in the photo were daughter Carol Sheesley, age 69; granddaughter Christina Sheesley, 48; great-granddaughter Jazzalynn Williams, 40; and great-great-grandsons Aezra, 9, and Asphen Williams, 12.
