Five Halloween date ideas to try this spooky season
Whether you're interested in an evening full of scares or one of romance, it's time to plan a Halloween date with your significant other.
So, grab your pumpkin spice latte and check out five date ideas to try this spooky season in the Coastal Bend.
Walk through a haunted house
What better way to see how much your partner loves you than to see if they'd leave you for dead while being chased by a scary clown holding a chainsaw?
That killer clown can be found at The Hauntings of Boogeyman Haunted House in Mathis on Farm-to-Market Road 666. The spooky attraction is out in the middle of nowhere and contains two separate haunted houses for the price of $20-$35.

Two other locations are Fright Night Haunted House and Haunting on the Blue Ghost.
The first can be found behind Mesquite Street Pizza in downtown Corpus Christi and promises to be the scariest haunted house you will ever walk through. Found aboard the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay, the Haunting on the Blue Ghost will take you on a tour through more than 80 compartments with plenty of terror around each corner.
Visit a pumpkin patch
Spend a date walking hand in hand with your lover and find pumpkins to eventually cut open and rip their guts out.
There are five local churches in the Corpus Christi area and a farm in Robstown to satisfy your gourd needs.

Make a fun game out of it and see who can find the biggest, smallest or most oddly shaped pumpkin in the patch. Be sure to take plenty of photos to update your social media as well.

Shop at Wild Wolf Halloween Store
If y'all haven't planned your costumes for the 31st, swing by Wild Wolf on South Staples Street, the city's first year-round Halloween store.
While you're there, be sure to check out horror merchandise and décor to get your home in the spirit of the spooky season.

Once you both figure out what you will be, give an impromptu fashion show in your costumes at home.
Be sure to have "Monster Mash" playing loudly to put you in the Halloween mood.
Go on a paranormal tour
If you dare to bother spirits and mess with the paranormal, have a frightful date on a ghost tour in Corpus Christi.
There are three paranormal tours you can choose from: RJA Walking Ghost Tours of Corpus Christi and two ghost tours aboard the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay.
The walking ghost tour is a two-hour expedition throughout downtown Corpus Christi where the guides will share the history of ghost stories and legends in the area. And no, you won't be able to go inside some closed buildings like the old Nueces County Courthouse.
The two tours on the USS Lexington include a ghost tour after the museum has closed and a paranormal investigation late in the evening. The latter ends at 2 a.m. Both will allow guests to roam the ship and investigate anomalies.
Stay in and watch scary movies
Or, you both could just stay home in the comfort of your home, snuggle under a "Hocus Pocus" blanket and have a horror-movie marathon.
Not sure what to watch? Here's a short list of some Halloween films to put on:
Disney+: "Hocus Pocus 2," "Halloweentown" and "Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire"
HBO Max: "The Witch," "The Blair Witch Project" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"
Hulu: "As Above, So Below," "Hellraiser" and "The Sixth Sense"
Netflix: "Wendell & Wild," "It Follows" and "Hush"
Paramount+: "The Addams Family," "Scream" and "Paranormal Activity"
Peacock: "Phantasm," "Halloween Ends" and "Psycho"
Prime Video: "Hostel," "The Silence of the Lambs" and "The Descent"
Shudder: "Watcher," "Carrie" and "Ginger Snaps"
Want to make the evening more special? Prepare a themed meal together while watching the flicks of your choice.
Watching "Carrie" and "The Blair Witch Project"? Have bloody marys and s'mores. "The Silence of the Lambs" and "Scream"? A three-bean casserole for something slightly more exotic and strawberry ice cream with cherry syrup for dessert.
