Five home runs fuel Clippers win over Mud Hens

Thursday's game: Clippers 15, Mud Hens 11

Recap: The Clippers used five home runs, including five three-run bombs, to outlast Toledo 15-11 at Huntington Park. David Fry hit two homers and posted five RBIs to help give Columbus an 8-3 lead in the third inning. Tyler Freeman and Bobby Bradley each hit homers and Will Brennan hit a bases-clearing double to extend the lead to 14-8. Toledo hit four home runs of their own, including one by former Clippers catcher Ryan Lavarnway, who cut the deficit to 14-11 in the sixth inning. Justin Garza pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 inning and was the first Columbus pitcher to not allow a run Yesterday. Ian Gibaut (2-0) followed and earned the win with two scoreless innings.
