Many greenhouses and plant nurseries, from Bordine's and Meijer Flowerland in Brighton to Wilczewski Greenhouse in Genoa Township and Tulip Tree Gardens in Gregory, are also open around the county. Shoppers can pick up succulents and houseplants at The Succulents Shoppe in Brighton Township, which features a build-your-own succulent arraignment station.

Booking something wild and crazy

Some businesses take reservations for adventurous experiences, including a "rage room" and an escape room venue. If time slots are booked full on Mother's Day, consider a future reservation or gift card as a gift.

Destruction Depot at 11048 Hi Tech Drive in Green Oak Township is a "rage room" experience, where customers unleash their inner beasts and smash objects to release stress and anger, or just satisfy an appetite for destruction. The rage room supplies rooms for smashing, protective gear for safety, and objects like dishes and TVs to dismantle with tools like hammers, baseball bats, and golf clubs.

Escape Room Brighton at 8143 Grand River Ave. offers 60-minute puzzling escape experiences. Rooms are decorated like an alien aircraft, a shipwreck island, an Aztec tomb, a fortune-teller's den, and a laboratory where the doctor has been murdered. The venue takes reservations for 2-8 people per room and sells gift cards.
