Five injured in Wednesday morning crash in Lac qui Parle County

Mar. 11—MADISON — A single-vehicle rollover crash injured five people Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 212 in Lac qui Parle County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Jesus Salas Acevedo, 34, Diego Castillo, 31, Hereberto Martinez Medina, 51, Hugo Sanchez, 25, and Aldo Uriel Sanchez Valentin, 21, all of Arlington, South Dakota, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash southwest of Madison near the South Dakota state line.

According to the crash report, a 2004 Ford Excursion, driven by Acevedo, was traveling westbound on a wet Highway 212 when it left the road near 151st Avenue in Garfield Township and rolled.

Acevedo, Castillo, Medina and Valentin were all transported to Johnson Memorial Health Services in Dawson for their injuries.

Sanchez was transported to Madison Health Care Services in Madison.

According to the State Patrol, Acevedo and Valentin were wearing their seat belts while Medina and Sanchez were not. It is unknown if Castillo was wearing his seat belt.

Alcohol is not listed as a factor on the crash report.

The Lac qui Parle County Sheriff's Office and the Dawson and Madison Ambulance responded to the crash, reported at 11:44 a.m. Wednesday.
