Ravenna City Council has appointed more members to the city's charter review commission, which is to convene in February.

Rory Becker, Jonathan Jennings, Suzanne Hoffman and Octavia Jones were appointed to the panel Monday. Michael Smith was named as an alternate.

Earlier this month, council named Gail Jones-Nemeth, Michael Bogo, Sharon Spencer, Carmen Laudato, Mark E. Smith, Dirk Remley, Steven Farhat, Deena Tannert and Antoinette Austin to the panel. A second alternate also is needed to serve.

The commission, which consists of 13 members plus two alternates, meets to review the city's charter and suggest changes to City Council, which makes the final decision on whether to put the proposals on the ballot.

The commission convenes every five years. In order to serve, participants must be registered voters, cannot be related to any Ravenna elected officials, and my not hold any other office or appointment in the city.
