Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis has announced awards of $10,000 each to five non-profit organizations Polk County through the Florida Fund.

The recipients are Everyday Christians Helping Orphans (ECHO) Ministries; Top Buttons, Inc.; Bikes for Christ; Dream Center of Lakeland; and Take a Kid Fishing, Inc.

Hope Florida, created by First Lady DeSantis and implemented by the Florida Department of Children and Families and the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, uses “care navigators” to guide Floridians to prosperity and economic self-sufficiency, the Governor’s office said in a news release.

The program encourages collaborations among the private sector, faith-based community, non-profits and government entities.
