MARIO’S
The team behind Estelle has opened a pizza and hero shop on Cleveland Avenue. Sicilian-inspired pan pizza, East Coast hero sandwiches, cold beer and zeppole doughnuts await.

KALSADA
Taking over the former Augustine’s space on Selby Ave is modern Filipino restaurant Kalsada. From the folks who gave St. Paul Cafe Astoria and Stella Belle, Kalsada offers up different menus for day and night time, with the morning menu focusing on Filipino breakfast staples alongside crepes and coffee, and modern Filipino fare, like truffled chicken adobo, lumpia and pika pika, for dinner. 1668 Selby Ave., St. Paul, 651-340-0496, kalsada-stpaul.com
JAMAICAN CARIBBEAN CUISINE
Skip the expensive airfare and instead relish in the tastes of the Caribbean at Roseville’s Jamaican Caribbean Cuisine. The joint, which opened in late April, boasts menu items like jerk wings, daily soups, curried chicken or shrimp and saltfish. BONCHON
Roseville will soon get a taste of crispy Korean fried chicken at Bonchon’s sixth Twin Cities location soon to open May 16. The franchise has become a popular fast Korean food joint by selling its crispy fried chicken along other Korean fare, like bulgogi, bibimbap and tteokbokki. According to Bonchon’s press release, the first 100 people in line on the day of their grand opening will receive free fried chicken. 2191 Snelling Ave., Roseville, bonchon.com
