Five-star EDGE Colin Simmons will visit Texas this weekend for the programs Junior Day.
The Duncanville native is rated the No. 1 EDGE for the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 3 overall prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
Simmons confirmed the March 25 visit via Twitter on Tuesday. Getting Simmons on campus is a high priority for Steve Sarkisian’s staff.
In 2022, Simmons was named the Dallas Morning News Defensive Player of the Year after leading Duncanville to a 15-0 record and state championship. He recorded 79 tackles, 33 tackles for loss and 22.5 sacks as a junior.
LSU and Texas appear to be the current leaders in Simmons’ recruitment per On3’s recruiting prediction machine.
