Join Sturgis Downtown Development Authority for a weekend full of holiday events Dec. 1-3. The fun begins Thursday with the opening of Kristkindlmarkt on Pleasant Street 4-8 p.m. The holiday market includes vendors, food trucks, cocoa, cider and more. On Friday, Santa returns to Free Church Park 4-7 p.m. in an event featuring reindeer, hot cocoa and donuts, the Sturgis High School band and choir, carriage rides and the Grinch. Kristkindlmarkt continues Friday 4-9 p.m. and Sip ‘n’ Stroll is 5:30-9 p.m. Friday at participating downtown businesses. Punch cards for that event are available at the DDA booth on Pleasant Street. On Saturday, Santa will be at the Depot Museum 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Kristkindlmarkt is noon-4 p.m. and a showing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas is at 1 p.m. at Strand Theater. $5 entry for that event includes the movie, Grinch punch, popcorn, a souvenir ornament and photos with the Grinch.
