Five women arrested for alleged retail theft at Walmart

HAZLE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) —  State police report that five women were arrested after being accused of retail thefts at a Walmart in Luzerne County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers responded to Walmart in Hazle Township for separate retail theft incidents throughout March.

On March 20 around 4:30 p.m., troopers were called for a 53-year-old woman from white Haven committing retail theft worth $83.60.

Then on March 23 around 10:45 p.m.troopers were called for theft at Walmart. Police say a 39-year-old woman from Hazleton swapped three items to pay a lesser value.

Six arrested for alleged retail theft at Walmart

Troopers said they were called to Walmart on March 26 around 4:20 p.m. after a 48-year-old woman from Hazleton failed to pay for multiple food items. PSP stated the total amount stolen was $103.94.

On March 29 around 4:30 p.m., state police responded to a reported theft committed by a 27-year-old woman from Hazleton. Troopers said she stole five items worth a total of $109.91. Lastly, on the same day around 8:20 p.m., troopers said they went to Walmart after a 37-year-old woman from Hazleton underscanned a Karakoke microphone.

All five suspects have been charged through the district court.
