FL Grocery Store Hours On Thanksgiving: Publix, Walmart, Safeway

FLORIDA — You might want to double-check to make sure you have all the ingredients you need for your Thanksgiving dinner.

There will be fewer Florida grocery stores open on Thanksgiving Day this year for items on your shopping list that you forget to buy.

After a tough year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the presidents of several major store chains announced that they are giving their employees a day off on Thanksgiving.

Your usual go-to stores like Walmart, Target and Winn-Dixie will be closed for the holiday.

Never fear, there's always a retailer willing to serve the public on a holiday.

Open Thanksgiving Day:

  • Albertsons: Some stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Safeway: Most stores will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight.

  • Sprouts Farmers Market: Open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • The Fresh Market: All stores are open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Whole Foods: Many stores open 7 a.m., closing as early as 2 p.m. Call for hours.

  • Save Mart: Most stores should be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Save-A-Lot: Most stores will be open but some will open late and others close early. The grocery store suggests calling your nearby store for hours.

  • Walgreens: Stores will be open regular hours on Thanksgiving Day.

  • CVS: Many CVS locations will be open on Thanksgiving, including the pharmacy, though hours may depend on the location.
