Flagler-Palm Coast and Matanzas high school seniors celebrate graduation

Family and friends packed the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach Tuesday when Flagler-Palm Coast and Matanzas high school seniors turned their tassels as the Class of 2023.

Matanzas kicked off the celebration at 3 p.m. when 390 graduates received their diplomas. The senior class had a big year, according to school officials: 33 students earned an Associate of Arts degree from Daytona State prior to graduating high school; 34 earned AICE diplomas; 68 earned industry certifications; and 150 students graduated with honors (3.75 gpa). Additionally, the class completed 12,448 hours of community service.

Flagler-Palm Coast High School celebrated 582 graduates at its 7 p.m. ceremony. Officials said 40 students earned an Associate of Arts degree from Daytona State; 49 earned an International Baccalaureate diploma; and 205 students graduated with honors. Community service hours weren't available for FPC by publication time.
