‘The Flash’: Barry Asks Julian, Earth-3 Jay Garrick About Savitar In Season 3, Episode 9
Barry (Grant Gustin) is determined to know more about Savitar in tonight’s episode of “The Flash.”
In a sneak peek from Season 3, episode 9, titled “The Present,” Barry pays Julian (Tom Felton) a visit at his lab to try to find out if the Philosopher’s Stone is somehow connected to Savitar.
“Many years ago, I heard about the Philosopher’s Stone,” Julian, who is secretly Doctor Alchemy, tells Barry in the clip. “It is said to be the first object to give human beings powers. Over the years, it got lost. I became quite obsessed with trying to find it. [I] read every piece of available research I could, and much to my parents’ dismay, I used my future inheritance … to try to find it. But we never found it. Pretty soon after that, I came here.”
Right after Julian excuses himself to get back to work, Barry asks him if he has come across the name Savitar while doing his research. “As far as I know, Savitar is the first meta of speed. That’s all I know Allen,” the CSI replies. “But I suggest that you don’t waste your time on this. Move on.”
Since Barry doesn’t get much information from Julian, the Scarlet Speedster — as seen in another sneak peak from the show’s midseason finale — travels all the way to Earth-3 to find out if Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp) has heard the name Savitar before.
While it’s unclear whether or not Barry is going to get any details about Savitar from Jay, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg recently revealed that Team Flash will get an opportunity to talk with the god of motion himself in the winter finale.
“The team is facing getting their first real conversation with Savitar and really getting a handle on what they’re up against this season,” Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly when asked what fans can expect from the episode. “They will have a greater idea of what threat Savitar is, and what they’re truly up against for this season, and how it is going to take all of them to fight it.”
“The Flash” midseason finale airs tonight at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
